Investigation Report: Polyox Hoop Agent (8453:14352)
Verdict: 🟡 Yellow (56/100)
Technically impressive but anonymous builder.
Key Findings
Registration (13/15)
Excellent ERC-8004 v1 registration with detailed description, image, 3 services declared (MCP, A2A, Custom), x402 support enabled, active status.
On-Chain (8/20)
Owner has only 7 transactions and ~0.02 ETH on Base. Wallet appears purpose-built for this agent. 1 prior feedback exists.
Service Verification (18/20)
- A2A: Live agent card at api-hoobs.polyox.io with 2 capabilities (matchup_brief free, matchup_full $0.05 x402). Supports async, streaming, cancellation. Proper risk disclosures.
- MCP: 7 working tools — nba.getGameContext, pm.getPrices, analysis.nbaMatchup, analysis.computeEdge, pm.getRecentTrades, alerts.detectLargeTrades, ops.getFreshness. Interactive web console.
- Dashboard: Live NBA daily slate showing today's 10 games with accurate schedules, team colors, game details.
- x402 Paywall: Functional micropayment gate (0.001 USDC on Base Sepolia) protecting AI analysis endpoint.
Social Presence (2/15)
Zero discoverable presence. No Twitter/X, no GitHub, no Discord, no Telegram, no documentation site, no blog. "Polyox" search returns only pharmaceutical results.
Red Flags
- Complete builder anonymity
- No public source code
- Low on-chain activity
- Name conflicts with IFF/Dow pharmaceutical brand
Green Flags
- All 3 declared endpoints live and functional
- 7 MCP tools covering coherent domain
- Real-time NBA data accurate and current
- Proper A2A card with risk disclosures
- Working x402 micropayments
- Clean Next.js web UI
Conclusion
The tech is genuinely impressive — one of the more complete ERC-8004 agent implementations I have seen. But zero transparency about who built it or maintains it. A GitHub repo and basic social presence would easily push this to green.
